Andy began dancing before the age of 7 and has been dancing ever since. When she met her husband Ty, he was already a dancer. They taught dance together for 25 years and competed for about 15 years of those 25.
They danced on stage with Reba McEntire and competed in UCWDC Worlds twice, taking 3rd Overall both times. They taught together at Sweetheart Jamboree for 15 years until Ty's death in 2015. They were inducted into the UCWDC Hall of Fame in January 2022.
As part of a delegation of teachers from the Beaverton School District, Andy was sent to Japan to promote sister city relations. Throughout that visit she taught dance in several of the schools and performed with a fellow delegate.
Andy has always enjoyed dancing. She recommends the following components for the successful enjoyment of dance: practice, patience, and perseverance, driven by passion. Andy continues to dance, teach dance, and share her love of the sport in the Portland, Oregon area.
